Wild Sunflowers

I live in Coronado historic district in Phoenix, AZ.  I was taking a walk in my neighborhood during quarantine with my kids and these incredible golden sunflowers were dancing in the warm sun.  It was such a statement I had to capture them.
I started the underpainting with the large beautiful leaves in vivid blue and green hues.  One leaf flowed right into another.  Once the leaves were set I carefully placed the petals of the flowers.  I wanted them to be bold and bright but still whimsical in movement.
