Description
This is me in quarantine with my three children. We had a rocky start in the beginning, but as time progressed we have learned to adapt once more. There has been a lot to learn for each one of us, but a big challenge is getting everyone what they need under one roof. This painting was more involved because it is a self portrait. I had to use various techniques to reach the desired outcome from this perspective. I set this up in my living room with my kids and worked from my large mirror and started how I always do, creating a map on the canvas. The large bay window is my favorite thing about this house. It marks my ‘studio’, which doubles as our living room. The bay window would not fit in the painting so I ran it off onto the side of the canvas. Perissian Blue is my signature color in almost every painting I create. There is a depth and richness that can’t be replicated. Blue signifies self expression which is very fitting because it is something that I have always felt the need to do.
