Coco Girl

oil on panel, 10″x16″, 2019

This piece was inspired from my daughter’s kindergarten choir performance. That night, watching her confidently sing on the stage with her fellow classmates really hit me how much my baby has grown. She has crossed so many fears and already is completely aware of her own anxiety and how to overcome it at age 6. She is a dreamer and a natural minimalist. She can play on the floor for hours with two random objects and make them come to life. In this piece, I painted her rainbow flowers from her performance and a couple of her favorite toys of the week.
